Ariadne’s Labyrinth is a classically trained violinist, pianist and composer. After some years spent living in squats, being around sound systems and the free party scene, she became deeply immersed in jazz and improvised music, as well as music from Cuba and Brazil.
She later began to pursue her love for electronica, drawn to the beat structures, textures and sounds that could not be created through instrumental performance alone.
Spanning the genres of IDM, techno, and ambient styles, she includes Warp and Aphex Twin’s Rephlex imprint as notable influences, as well as Bjork and Phillip Glass.
To date she has released music on Touched Music and Detroit Underground, and has self-released with support from Arts Council England.
Her live performances are an exciting mixture of playful beats, live improvised cinematic strings and beautiful polyphonic melodies.
