Bob Bhamra, also known as West Norwood Cassette Library, sometimes known as No.1 Astronaut, is also one half of Data 70, another half of Plastic Soul and the owner of WNCL Recordings.
Releases on Hypercolour (UK), Teal Records (Denmark), New Kanada (Canada) as well as his own WNCL Recordings imprint (established in 2010 and an occasional home to J Tijn, Ekoplekz, Kevin McPhee, Don Froth, Ultramarine and James Duncan amongst others)!
He’s had original tracks remixed by the likes of Pearson Sound, Brackles, Quantec, Karenn (Blawan and Pariah) & Pangaea, and also provided his own remixes of tracks by South London Ordnance, Groove Armada (Hypercolour), Unique 3 and for Kerri Chandler’s Madtech label.
Most recently appeared live on Boiler Room, Berlin. Monthly radio show on Balamii definitely worth checking out! Radio mixes for Mary Anne Hobbs (Radio 1), Solid Steel, various shows on Rinse, NTS etc… Podcasts for FACT, DJ, Phonica, Little White Earbuds, Dummy and Dazed & Confused.
West Norwood Cassette Library will be releasing a 4 track EP on Hypercolour sub-label, Sneaker Social Club, in early 2017.
