We have a seriously pumping mix for you this week, recorded at the Alphaground studio (Lens / France), by Tyler Smith, aka Black Smith Craft. No fx tricks or turntablism…only music with different moods and influences from Detroit to Birmingham : 4/4, offbeat and spacey ambiences. He always tries to build his sets like a story, with different chapters so people don’t get bored. Sometimes seamless like water flowing, sometimes brutal like storm blowing. This selection would easily rock a floor but is home-listening friendly as well (trust us on this!!). Tyler names this set “People eating tasty animals”, after an intriguing wikipedia page he recently came across…what you record is what you get, no edits!

Born and raised in northern France, Tyler has been DJ’ing and producing techno for about two decades. Over the years, Tyler’s approach to the music has become darker & more industrial, which in turn has led to the birth of his most acclaimed project : Black Smith Craft (BSC)!
Tyler has mainly been a shadow activist with different shows on FM and web radios (Bside, Interstate 94, the Dirty show…) and respected for this, spreading the word about Detroit and Birmingham tunes and giving a chance to newcomers back in the 2000s.
Since 2008, Tyler has played on stages across Europe alongside artists like Kr!z, The 65d Mavericks, Bas Mooy, DJ Toki, DJ Boss, Bionic, Dimitri Pike, Arrestar, Sean Matters, Systemic and Victor Martinez!
