Amen Brother was started by Niall Kirk & Pete Cadden as an outlet for DJs who more rooted in the electronic genres, to play all the funk, soul, disco and psych rock that they love.
Amen Brother Records then started as an outlet for Niall’s own disco edits. Each release sold out within 3 weeks.
As the parties and label grew, Sean, Pete & Niall were the fantastic trio of residents - they ran the parties in a private members club in Dublin and had guests like TBD and Mike Huckaby (who played one his Sun Ra Reel-To-Reel sets)!
The lads have also had Amen Brother Radio on a recently closed Toronto based web-radio station. They won an award for the show from Mixcloud and were noted in The Telegraph as one of the world’s ‘must listen to’ shows! Manus & Kirk are based over in Canada now but still have strong roots to Amen Brother’s homeland in Ireland.
