This week, we have a real insight into a producer’s works. Using purely his own productions, ‘grg’ has put together an hour of wonderful tripped out techno.
@grg-official
Grg started making electronic music in 1994 using Fast Tracker on his 386SX25 PC. Half a year later, with friends jens and Paul, they founded the Ensemble Acid Paul. They bought a lot of analog equipment…303, 909, 808, many effects etc…, and started to play live in old fabric halls, warehouses and abandoned buildings. In the early 90s in East Germany, there were a lot of abandoned places and techno was the sound!
We played a lot of live gigs in Eastern Germany and produced two 12“ Picture Discs, promoted solely by ourselves. In 2001 we then split, and he decided to make music on his own as Grg and hasn’t looked back since!
He now works for a high-end audio company in Berlin and in his spare time, is constantly laying out his hardware from scratch and trying to improve the stuff he’s got! The heart of his devices now is an old mpc3k, some drum machines, synths, numerous limiters, eq’s and good effects.
But in the end, It’s the love of my family that makes the difference.
