Based in south London, 21-year-old Harushi Clan is one of the young producers making a steady ascend in the UK techno scene. With releases from Cloaka’s label Heretic and an EP Just released via Bunk Audio, there are promising things in store for this young man. The Harushi clan sound focuses on texture and distortion, incorporated into hard-hitting drum patterns, alongside thought provoking atmospheres and ambiences. Although his music is often classified as ‘Techno’, Harushi is an avid supporter of the broken beat side of the genre and much of his previous work has an authentic tribal feel about it. Recent uploads onto SoundCloud with tracks such as “distorted thing” and “Untitled” have demonstrated a much harder edge to the Harushi sound, and with support from techno producer Ansome (The analogue power house), more violent sounds are set to be released in the near future. If you’re a fan of this sound, catch Harushi clan’s label ‘The Night shift’ on Radar Radio the first Tuesday of every month.
